FRC 2687 Team Apprentice

Team Apprentice (FRC 2687) is Westlake High School’s second FRC Team consisting of sophomores and juniors. Team Apprentice was founded in 2019 to provide more Westlake students the opportunity to be involved in FRC and FIRST. Initially a team of 27 students during its rookie year, 2687 has grown to a 37-student team. But while Team Apprentice is an individual team, all 3 teams in the Westlake Robotics program work together as one family. During the offseason, all 3 teams work together on technical offseason projects to ensure that students are prepared for the season. In addition to this, the leads of each mechanical sub-team on FRC 2468 (Design, Electronics, Programming, and Manufacturing) work in groups and one-on-one to train the students. With the addition of a third team (FRC 2689), 2687 has become a crucial stepping stone for students to hone their skills before moving up to Team Appreciate.
