MetroBot
To expand our outreach beyond our district’s borders, we’ve led and created robotics programs bringing STEM to students across the broader STEM community.
Austin Public Library (APL)
We held multiple events with fast-paced “sumo” robotics battles allowing students to use LEGO Spike Kits to make shields and battle against one another, sphero bots, and fun science events such as color-changing ink and creating their own DNA model using candy.
“The hands-on nature of the event provided practical application that classroom learning alone cannot replicate. The event’s structure empowers underrepresented groups to see themselves as future leaders in the STEM community.” — Jenny Miner, APL Youth Librarian
Ann Richards School for Girls
