MLK Day Workshop

 In order to introduce young girls in our community to STEM and FIRST robotics, we started our annual MLK Day Camp five years ago. We host a day-long “camp” to give elementary and middle school girls a taste of FLL and FTC respectively. The girls of 2468 mentor the younger girls through the basics of a mock competition, from building to programming to strategizing to driving.

6th-8th Graders

Using engineering principles, robotics team members will help the girls build and program a working robot (a Tetrix project) in one day and compete against other teams in a game, just like the high school robotics teams.

3rd-5th Graders

Using engineering principles, robotics team members will help the girls build and program an LEGO EV3 robot to complete complex challenges, just like FIRST Lego League teams.
