One of our FRC mentors, Westlake physics teacher Bob Witowski, had the prestigious role of representing the US State Department in a trip to Kiev, Ukraine through the Teachers for Global Classrooms program. The two-week trip took place in April 2012 with the objective of observing and learning about the education systems and opening dialog with their administrators. Witowski made a point to explain our robotics program’s involvement in FIRST to influential individuals such as Dr. Stanislav Dovhyi, President of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and a Member of Parliament.
