One of our priorities is to increase the number of women involved in STEM fields, robotics communities, and FIRST. Due to this, we have created an entirely new branch of 2468 called Girls in STEM which actively recruits, teaches, and spreads knowledge about the field to women. This is organized and carried out by female students on our team by visiting younger girls in elementary and middle schools. There, they give presentations and demonstrations to the younger girls at assemblies and exhibition days. Girls in STEM also plans and facilitates one-day camps on school holidays to give female youths even more opportunities to work hands on with all aspects of robotics, from build to programming to competition. Not only does 2468 work on recruiting girls, but we also help retain women and build communities.
